Our Inspiration
At Lilly's Home Care, we are driven by a desire to make a difference. As experienced caregivers ourselves, we saw first-hand what was lacking in the industry. We recognize the complexities of the challenges that come with aging and understand how important it is to focus on care from our client's perspective. Understanding clients' needs meant learning from our own experiences and taking pride in delivering only the highest quality of care. We are inspired daily to achieve this, and we pride ourselves in making sure every client is cared for the way we would care for our own family members.
In Honor of Lillian August
Lillian August, "aka Auntie Lilly" to many, was a registered nurse and midwife, a lifelong Honorary Board Member of the Belize Cancer Society, Ladyville Senior Citizen Group, Belize Hospice Palliative Care, and the Nurse's Association of Belize.
She was integral in ensuring palliative and supportive care for patients affected by cancer and their families. Lillian was a person you could always rely on and was a champion of care and a beacon of hope to all who had the pleasure of being in her company or receiving her care.
She supported many affected by cancer and other health concerns both day and night without complaint and would immediately provide a listening ear or support in whatever way possible to anyone who needed her. Lillian August was passionate about outreach and community work and ensured she made time and effort to support all initiatives and work of the BCS and many other social organizations in Belize. This had become a fiber of her being, helping those in need.
Lillian passed away on April 25th, 2021, at the age of 79. My mom was nothing short of an amazing inspiration and was truly "The Heart of Caring."
